Foods That Encourage
Easy Weight Loss
by Beth Scott
Would you believe me if I told you that there
are certain foods that help dramatically in the natural weight loss
process?
I don't blame you if you find this hard to
believe. If there were truly "miracle" foods that help so much in
the weight loss process wouldn't they be well known and widely used?
Well there are foods that help with weight loss, but
they aren't "miracle" foods, and the reason they aren't widely know
about or used is because for the most part people prefer fast food and
junk food.
The reason fast food is extremely popular with the
general public is because, well for one, it's fast. Another
reason is that it tastes good. These two factors create an
irresistible pull that addicts people to fast food, leading to weight
gain.
Now, not every person who eats fast food is
overweight, this is because some people have VERY gifted
metabolisms. They could eat junk food all day long and not gain a
single pound. But these people are very rare, and I'm sure if
you're reading this that you're not one of them.
I may not be able to convince you to completely give
up junk food and fast food, but I hope to at least show you that
healthy foods can be extremely tasty and filling.
Quick Foods for
Easy Weight Loss...
Here is a
list of
easy to make snack foods that (if eaten in normal and not enormous
servings) will help you lose weight. Try using these foods to
replace "bad" junk food snacks such as chips, cookies, crackers, and
sugary ice cream.
- Air popped popcorn (without any butter or other
fats drizzled on)
- One serving size of fresh or frozen fruit (my
favorites are fresh
peaches, plums and oranges or home frozen bananas)
- One cup plain yogurt or 1/2 cup cottage cheese
(great for getting
calcium which you need for strong teeth and bones)
- Mini carrots, cherry tomatoes or fresh sugar
snap peas (these sweet, extra low calorie
veggies are very popular treats for weight loss)
- 1 or 2 hard boiled eggs (much better for easy
weight loss than eggs
scrambled or fried in high calorie butter, oil or fat)
Great Meal Ideas
for Easy Weight Loss...
Here are
some of my
favorite ways to make meal times easier on your waistline.
Try to eliminate as many processed
foods from
your diet as possible. This means frozen TV dinners, store bought
breads, muffins, or other pastries.
Instead of buying them bake your own muffins,
biscuits and bread for optimal nutritional benefit and easy weight loss
(this web site will help you learn to bake all of these).
Try to focus your breakfast (which should be the
largest meal of the day) around dairy, fruit and protein instead of
starches like pancakes, muffins, toast, hash browns, or cold/hot
cereals. This means low-fat meat, eggs, yogurt, milk, cottage
cheese, apples, grapefruits, bananas, oranges, etc...
For your lunch (which should be your second largest
meal of the day) be sure that you have two vegetable
servings (a salad, and a cooked vegetable dish), a small grain serving
(optional), a
fruit serving, and a serving of low-fat meat such as turkey or chicken.
For your dinner (or the smallest meal of the day)
eat a small sandwich or a bowl of soup. The sandwich should
consist mainly of: 2 slices whole grain bread, 2 thin slices cheese, 1
slice tomato, 1 lettuce leaf, a slice of turkey meat or some other low
calorie
meat topping, and a pickle(optional).
You can vary the different types of vegetables, or
meat toppings that you use for your sandwich, and your soup should
always consist mainly of a vegetable base with possibly a handful each
of noodles and meat added (to the entire soup not just your serving).
If implemented daily into your diet these little
tricks and meal ideas will really help you shave off some unwanted
pounds.
