8 Easy Weight Loss Tips
by Beth Scott
There are a lot of “crash” diets out there that
promise that you’ll drop a considerable amount of weight in a few days
or a week.
I have tried out many of these, and in my experience
the weight always comes back on just as quickly as it came off.
This is because the “diets” given do not work with the way your body
functions instead they work against it.
One thing you don’t want to do if you are actually
serious about losing weight is to follow these fad diets and their
ridiculous claims for super fast and easy weight loss.
After their ineffectiveness has been proven time and
again, people will start to wise up to that particular diet, and will
head off in search of a new craze.
Lets be honest, people are always searching for easy
weight loss tips because they want to lose pounds and they want
immediate results, but this is just wishful thinking.
To lose weight permanently and effectively it will
be a rather slow process, all depending on your metabolic rate and how
much you need to lose. But even if it is slow, weight loss can
still be easy.
There are some really proven tried and true easy
weight loss tips and I’ll do my best to make you familiar with them.
Weight Loss Tip 1
Don’t skip breakfast. Whatever you do follow this advice,
because if you skip eating a good nourishing breakfast you will be
prone to binge later in the day. For proper weight loss your
breakfast should be your biggest meal, lunch your second largest and
dinner your smallest.
This is best because you cannot digest food properly
especially large amounts of it, while sleeping. So a large dinner
will sit heavy on your stomach, and lead to more gained weight.
Weight Loss Tip 2
Drink TONS of water. You should drink at the very least, eight
8-ounce glasses of pure filtered water a day. This helps
considerably in the weight loss process. Water helps to fill your
stomach leading you to eat less because less food will fit in your
stomach (I’m just phrasing this in a way you’ll understand instead of
giving the medical jargon or terms).
Plus the water cleanses your system and helps your
body to process the food you have eaten. For every 25 pounds that
you are overweight you should drink an extra 8 oz glass a day.
Weight Loss Tip 3
Don’t eat meals
while watching TV, reading emails, or taking care of paperwork.
If you do, then chances are you will end up taking “just one more bite”
too many, leading to weight gain. If you zero out mealtimes as a
time solely for eating then you will be able to concentrate mainly on
the meal, and the satiety or fullness signals your brain sends to your
stomach, leading you to eat less.
Weight Loss Tip 4
Eat fresh fruits instead of junk food snacks. Substitute a
serving of the following fruits; bananas, watermelon, plums, peaches,
apples, pears, and oranges for sugary treats like; cookies, processed
ice cream, potato chips, and candy.
Weight Loss Tip 5
Use good sweeteners in place of unhealthy fattening ones.
Substitute honey for sugar, and carob powder for chocolate in all
recipes. These taste just as good if not better when used
properly. But remember honey is sweeter than sugar so only use
3/4 as much honey in a recipe, as you would sugar. If the recipe
requires a cup of sugar replace it with 3/4 cup honey, etc...
Weight Loss Tip 6
Eat more vegetables. This can even be enjoyable if you have the
right recipes (new ones are always being posted on this site).
And the following vegetables make excellent snack foods; mini carrots,
sugar snap peas, celery sticks, and cherry tomatoes.
Weight Loss Tip 7
Avoid unnecessary
high calorie foods. Instead of a high calorie salad
dressing for instance try cottage cheese or yogurt to improve the taste
of a salad and peel off extra pounds.
Weight Loss Tip 8
Exercise at least a half hour each day for five days out of the week.
Biking on a stationery bike while reading is a great form of exercise
to slim legs as is jogging or brisk walking.
The best thing for you would be to find a form of
exercise you enjoy that is about the only way you’ll be able to stick
to your daily exercise goal. Try experimenting with sports or
activities such as tennis, swimming or basketball and see if you enjoy
them enough to stick to them as an exercise regimen.
In conclusion there is truly nothing stopping you
from losing weight, except yourself. Get off the "I can't do
anything about my weight problem" bandwagon and start dropping pounds
today!
